Is it bad to put vinegar on a bicycle rim?

  1. It won't hurt your rim, but I can't think of why you would want to.


  2. It might turn your rim black due to the acid in the vinegar reacting with the aluminum (if you have aluminum rims) but it shouldn't hurt them.

  3. If your trying to clean the rubber residue from the brakes, I don't know how effective it will be, but it might work. I can't picture any damage happening. In fact,that might be safer than some other cleaner.
