John, understand why you do it and love it. **** everyone else and what they think. But make sure that you understand Hip Hop where it started and the element that is Rap.

Most people get Hip Hop and Rap confused thinking they are one in the same. Rap is the medium of music that is part of Hip Hop culture.

Do your research and know where it came from who the legends and greats are and find your own style and pursue it will all of your heart.

Don't feel bad about it, never let anyone make you feel bad about something you are into or love.

Don't try to imitate or emulate anyone.

Are you Christian or Religious. I got some advice for you right here never feel bad about anything unless you are harming others.

Guilt is a killer for your Self Esteem. I use to wonder why I listened to Hip Hop when half of it was all about s*x & Violence but that **** happens and most rappers are just rhyming about what they see or hear about in life. A lot of Rap is advice on what to look out for in the world out there. So I say capture it and spit from the heart.
