School is starting up soon and I am on the cross country team. I am considering getting up very early before school starts and running. Will this have negative effects towards practice after school?

  1. Running in the morning will make you tired. When you're tired during practice, you won't be able to perform at your max, making you one of the weaker runners even though you try the hardest. Plus, if you're tired in the morning your grades are gonna be low and your parents will take you out of XC!!!

  2. you should tell you coach because with my coach if you come in the morning he lets you do a lighter workout in the afternoon

  3. If your a beginning runner, then I would say absolutely not. If you do that I can almost guarantee you that you will get a stress fracture or some other sort of injury that will leave you unable to run the for all or most of the season. Afternoon workouts w/the xc team will be plenty. Just keep working hard and you will get there. And especially since you are a girl..you are more prone to injuries such as stress fractures. The best way to become a stronger and faster runner is to do the work and be comitted to the team...it maybe hard at times but it will pay off sooner or later. PLEASE PLEASE don't run twice a day..once is enough in most cases.

  4. Your over-stressing. Trust me, the afternoon workouts will be plenty, and your going to need your sleep.
