Is it bad to sleep 10 hrs every night?

I cant seem to function when I get less than 10 hrs. is it bad for me to sleep that much?

  1. No! Your body needs as much rest as possible. You're actually lucky you get that many hours of sleep. You must not have children..lol

  4. no thats not bad at all.  its healthy.  just dont wake up too late.  i have a friend who sleeps really late and wakes up at like 3 pm lol but for a normal time like from 10 to 9 am is pretty good.  

  5. no its not bad people are soposed to get at least 8 hrs of sleep every night and if u get more its not a bad thing as long as ur not being just lazy and actually get up and do stuff when ur awake

  6. Not at all. Your body obviously needs that much sleep.  I am the same way; I work 9+ hours a day and then have a chronic pain condition and alot of stress! My body cannot function without 9-10 hours of sleep a night.

  8. yes its good but it can also be bad because i find when i sleep to long i am always tiered but if you find that you cant function when you get less then 10 then i think thats fine and its probably what your body needs

    but your body finds it harder to function after being shut down for so long

    try napping during the day for 2 hours then staying up=]

    or set your alarm and get up earlier=D

  15. Everyone is different, but most people only need 6 to 8 hours of sleep. But, not being able to function without 10 hours of sleep is pretty bad. Go see a doctor. They know you the best.

  16. well that amount is fine but u dont want to over sleep or ur body has to work to keep u asleep making u more tired.  

  17. It really depends on your age and your lifestyle. Right now, it's probably not harmful for you to sleep that much. In the long wrong, sleeping too much isn't the healthiest thing for you. They say that continuous sleeping of more than 7 or 8 hours a night can shave years off your life, though I'm not sure if that's true or not. But anyway, the thing that worries me about you is that you say that you can't function on less than 10 hours, if that's true that sounds kind of serious and maybe you should get that checked out. The average person age 16 and over shouldn't need more than 8 hours a night. Most people above age 18 only need like 6 or 7 hours. You could check online and see how much someone your age (since I'm not sure how old you are) should be sleeping, there's lots of websites about that.

  19. No it's not bad at all; everyone is different. Some people require less, some more. You said yourself that you can't function on less than 10 hrs. So don't let anyone try to make you feel guilty for sleeping "so long." Your body knows what it requires.
