Is it bad to use the deck wash too much on my mower?

its a john deere la115, i cant figure out whats worse: wet grass or too much water under the deck. I wash it out once after mowing.

The wet grass leads to mod and rust which is bad for the metal deck. Washing iy out allows the deck to dry wuickly and helps to keep down rust out problems.
