  1. Yea, I think, too, you need to give your muscles a rest. Massage your aching spots while you watch TV or something. That's what I do when I'm sore from exercising.

  2. Soreness is your body's way of saying "whoa, slow down". Give your body a day to adapt to the stresses you are placing on it. Make sure you eat well and get enough protein and sleep.

  3. Generally a sore muscle is a repairing muscle. Muscle repair best when they are resting, and you are giving them the calories/protein they need.

It’s not usually a good idea to work out a muscle group that is sore, for this reason.

However, every once in a while isn’t going to kill you. In fact every once in awhile may be good as it conditions your body to better remove lactic acid build up (or so a personal trainer once told me). Your long term results will not suffer from doing this every once in awhile.

Generally, it’s best to workout on a split routine, so that major muscle groups can rest an entire week, even though you’re working out 3-5 times a week.

One example split routine (a 5-day one) is as follows…

    Day 1 Chest

    Day 2 Legs

    Day 3 Shoulders

    Day 4 Back

    Day 5 Biceps and Triceps

You don’t have to follow exactly that…that’s just an example.

  4. No, it's good. It shows that yesterday's workout was a good one. Warm up by stretching and hit the Nordic today. You'll notice the soreness dissipate.

  5. Yes dude, Dont consider top contributors answer will be always correct. One day i'll be top contributor if u vote best answer. It is not advised to work out when ur sore as the main part of ur body will be totally weak. Ur brain muscles will be affected by this. Consult doctor if u wanna proof. It has been told by one of the doctors for me.

  6. It's ok to be sore, but not in pain.  Sore muscles are normal after a good workout.  You are tearing the muscles down, which allows them to build up and grow stronger.

The soreness is called DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.

This is usially felt 24 to 72 hours after exercising and subsides generally within 2 to 3 days. It is caused by lactic acid buildup in the muscles - which is totally normal.  Stretching before and after exercise can reduce DOMS, also warming up before exercise and cooling down afterwards.  Exercising the sore muscle group is ok - as long as you wait a day between workouts.  This is when your muscles are repairing themselves and growing stronger.

Good Luck - Keep it up!

  7. it depends how sore you are. only you can decide. but if your going to skip a workout you should be REALLLY sore. if you are able to move than you're fine

  8. when starting off i would try every other day to get your muscles used to it but you dont want to obsessively work your muscles because then you will be very very sore

  9. yes, give your body a rest for today- and try it tomorrow

although it is a good sign - that your muccles got used  - where they usally wouldnt be used
