Is "emo" becoming more popular in the U.S.A, or less? Is it becoming more popular for boys or girls? I'm just curious.

  1. I think it is becoming more popular in the younger age groups (sadly) but thankfully the older generations of kids (16+) have started to get over it. However it looks like more people are getting out of it then into it.

  2. Emos are increasing, definitely, but it seems that preps are the majority and will be for a very long time.

  3. Probably less common for people to label themselves as such...instead, the new trend is to just come up with a new label for yourself.

  4. Hopefully less.....to never hear that word again would truly be a beautiful thing.

  5. it was HUGE in new zealand last year, practically every second person i saw was wearing all black, enough eyeliner for three people and had some sort of gross streak in their hair and a piercing on their face.

i hope it dies down, its a culture that disconveniences other people and it just makes the whole place look bad. as they mature, they discover that sitting around whining about everything isnt so much fun and they grow up and start being themselves again. the emos that claim 'but im not sad, im a happy person!' are just fooling themselves and are in denial.

  6. I don't know about the USA, but in Australia all emos get paid out.

  7. hmm i really dont know. its a good question. i would say it would probaly be becoming more popular with both girls and boys but not by a huge rate...

i personally do not care for it and think some forms can be unhealthy

  8. It rode its wave already, in my opinion. Manliness is making its comeback. Well... when it first hit it big I was 13, so there's lots of fragile emos in that age... whereas at 17 girls want real men... so it dies off a lil.

    I dunno. :]
