  1. It depends on the outside humidity levels. You may dry faster by just using large fans to accelerate the airflow through the house. At minimum you should have fans operating in the affected area to help dry the area in addition to the dehumidifier. If the flood was a larger one the dehumidifier may not be enough in itself to prevent the start of mold and mildew. If you can, get several more units and fans to dry this out as soon as possible. If you have any type of plug in heating units, start these and direct the output to the wet areas. Warm air will accept more water vapor. If yu have airconditioning turn it on also. The airconditioner is just a big dehumidifier in this case. I know all of this stuff on makes for a large electric bill but it will get the drying happening. Hope this helps.

  2. Closed.

  3. You should close the windows to remove the moisture from a particular area. once you are satisfied that you have dried up the area then be sure to keep the window closed. As soon as you introduce the fresh air from the outside the humidity will begin to rise again. I deal with this problem all of the time in my business and can tell you that humidity in the house can be difficult to control. There are products available to help you keep the area dry for good and services in your area that you can call on for a professional quote, just be careful to have more than one service look at your situation and give you quotes providing the dehumidifier does not do the trick. Good Luck!

  4. Closed, otherwise it will be removing all the moisture from the outside too which will be incredible expensive and a waste of time.

Make sure it's a good dehumidifier suitable for the size of room or house. The more litres per day it removes, the better.

Good luck with that and I hope you don't get flooded again.

  5. Closed of course

  6. closed
