Is it best to replace windows when I am getting my siding replaced?

We need to have our masonite siding replaced along with 10 windows. I was wondering what would be the most cost effective way to do that?

The answer to this question depends on the contractors performing the work. If you are aware that you are going to replace both the siding and the windows and it's going to be done by different contractors then make sure that they coordinate with each other before the project is started. If you're looking to have only one of these remodeling tasks done, then window replacement should be your first choice to insure a waterproof exterior.

if you are going to hire out to have the wok done, hire a company that advertises both siding and windows. tell them you want a free estimate and you expect a good quote because, if you choose them they'll be getting both projects. normally a window company has to figure in siding tear down and replacement as part of their bid. this will be covered in the siding bid, reducing labor by quite a bit. plus, they're benefiting from getting the extra business.good luck!
