Not for the reader, the publishers. The money, time, ease to put something onto paper vs. the internet.

As for the readers, cheaper to buy the newspaper or pay for energy used for turning on a computer?

  1. It depends on who they are marketing to. Young people look online and older generations like hard copies. (why big newspapers do both) Hope this helps!


  2. Every copy of the newspaper that is sold makes money. That's why newspapers are in the business. It's not true for the Internet.

    While advertising is growing for on line material, newspapers are still trying to figure out the way to make money consistently on it. They are getting page views in most cases, but that's different than turning that into income.
