I have recycling bins in my home to seperate recyclables from non-recyclables. Since I use the recycling bins to store recyclables which are later dumped into the roadside recycling bin, wouldn't it be better if I not use a trash can liner?

Basically, my question is this. Is it best not to use a trash can liner when you know your going to dump the contents into a larger container later?

  1. Yup, guess so because using any polymer is going to have a bad effect on the environment. It depends if you'll find it easy to keep the bin itself clean though.

Your answer to 'vampwith...' seemed very harsh though. She made a good suggestion and obviously made a simple mistake. You say she wasted your time, but at least she took the time to write you a reply.

  2. It does make sense not to use a bin liner.  Much better for environment not to use liners in all our bins.  The disadvantrage is that you will have to  rinse out  yours bins from time.

  3. Your a complete t**t

  4. Geez, you dont need to go off on the girl. She was just trying to help. Maybe she misunderstood the question and maybe she isn't the best speller in the world, but either way, she posted an answer with the intent on helping you out. BE NICE!

And, yes, I would skip using the liners altogether. asuuming all the trash is rinsed thoroughly.

  5. Most supermarkets and hardware stores now sell bio degradable recycling sacks that will fit wheelie bins, recycling boxes and the kitchen caddies.
