Is it better for your clothes to be washed at a high temp or low?

my babys clothes never clean properly and was wondering if to change the temp on my washer, does it wash better at a high temp? will it damage my clothes? im not planning on doing this all the time just for really dirty clothes

  3. well here's the difference:

    cold water keeps clothes colors from bleeding & keeps stains from transferring onto other clothes.

    warm/hot water gets stains out better for most things, but some fabrics can't go in hot water because they shrink.

  4. Don't use powder anything on babys clothes get liquid. wash on a warm temp add softner with the liquid soap to the wash cycle itself then to the rinse as well.  Also make sure if it's a nasty stain pour some liquid soap on the spot 5 min before you put it to wash.

  6. I would wash baby's clothes in very hot water.

    My own clothes I wash in cold water because I don't want them to shrink or fade but my mother has always told me that very hot water will get it cleaner.
