I find it difficult to feel that I'm not being totally myself by concealing this information, but know that it adversely affects my reputation due to the negative stigma associated with this illness.

  1. Don't tell people unless they ask.

  2. the best solution for you is to find a support group for the disorder.

this allows you to share your information so that you don't feel isolated.

  3. I don't think that people need to know unless you are close to them. There is, unfortunately, a stigma associated with being bi-polar. Some people are just ignorant and wouldn't understand. Then again, I suppose it could be a good way of weeding out the ignorant people that you wouldn't want to be close with anyway!

  4. Do you honestly believe that someone will not know you are bi-polar without your meds? If you take your meds, you are ok, but the second you get off of them, everyone is going to know.  Bipolar is a lifelong illness, but remains completely in control with a little pill.

  5. It depends on how long you've known them.

  6. Yeah, it's definitely not something to tell anyone. Don't feel guilty about keeping this secret from your coworkers or classmates or whoever: if they are the right person to tell, then you will know. It all depends on how well you trust them and feel comfortable with them knowing. And don't worry, it's not that big of a deal if everyone finds out: they'll forget about it in a week or less.

  7. Well some people feel like they have to talk about everything I personally don't need to divulge everything to everyone.  Some people may not want to know.  If you had cancer would you walk around telling everyone?

  8. its not smart ot tell everyone. mean some friend if you want ot but i would keep it low key yes its hard to deal with but you can i feel bad most of the time and now there is a death associated witht his feeling i have and i have to deal with it so you know take it one day at a time and you sould not tell everyone take care.

  9. you should only tell close friends and family.

  10. I only told my family. The people that I know wont judge me.

  11. i have bipolar too, i tell people when i shouldn't. people accuse me of enjoying Shock Value sometimes

    Don't do it!
