I am considering moving my LSAT in OCTOBER to DECEMBER in the hopes of doing better, but am worried that applying later in rolling admissions schools might decerease my chances. Am a Latino studying for a Master's in Educational Policy w/ 3.88 GPA and 3.19 Undergrad GPA at a Big Ten School. Looking to apply to top 14 schools. THanks

  1. If you want to increase your chances of being admitted into the law school of your choice, apply early. Most students don't apply early and actually hurt their chances of admission. As long as you have signed up with LSAC, your best LSAT score will be available to the law school you apply to. Earlier applications are looked at more closely by the admissions council and can be beneficial to the applicant. Note--your application to law school entails more than just the LSAT score (although it is important). It is the entire packet: GPA, leadership abilities, references, etc. So, don't let your LSAT score hold you back from applying. Also, make sure you adequately prepare for the LSAT when you take it again. Preparation is key---and it is equally important once you get admitted into law school. I hope this answer helps. And I completely understand your anxiety--I am a third year law student and have not forgotten how stressful things like this can be. Make sure you visit the law schools you are applying to--consider things like cost of living. Once you are admitted, you will likely have more questions. Good Luck!
