  1. As previously mentioned, weeds don't attract mosquitoes.  But, they do give other bugs places to live and hide as well as being a fire hazard in extremely dry weather. Weed roots can damage your foundation, too. Cut them down and plant marigolds. They repel mosquitoes. ;)

  2. Weeds do attract mosquitoes.  Everyone forgets that it is only the female mosquito that is the blood sucking nuisance.  Male mosquitoes and females that don't have a blood supply live on the nectar and the juices of plants which includes weeds. Plus, any plant offers shelter for the insects.  Cut the weeds.

  3. It's not going to make a difference either way, mosquitoes like hot, humid weather and stagnant water. Might as well cut the weeds becaause weeds look bad, but it'll do nothing to prevent bugs.

  4. It's better to cut the weeds down.  They will not prevent mosquitoes.

Water is what attracts mosquitoes.  They lay their eggs in water.  So it's best not to allow anything that can collect rain water and sit allowing mosquitoes to breed.

  5. If you don't want mosquitoes, get rid of stagnant water on your property and cut down the weeds before the neighbors complain.

  6. Cut down the weeds, in my area mosquitoes and gnats are worse when the grass/weeds are tall. Unless they are citronella weeds which I doubt.

  7. how are weeds going to prevent mosquitoes?

  8. cut them. it looks bad if you don't. it's hard work but it looks great when your done. plus you can use like Off or citronella candles for the mosquitos!   =]
