  1. if you go to the states its always best to exchange here as you get a better rate.

hen my friend went to france he exchanged over there and he said he got a better deal than he would have in the uk.

  2. BANKS are ALWAYS the best place to exchange money and BANKS in the COUNTRY YOU ARE TRAVELING TO  are even better.  I've been all over the world and have found the BEST rates are ALWAYS the local BANKS... and I've tried just about every money exchang or Cambia at one time or another.

The trick is, the MORE you exchange, the LESS you pay for the exchange charge.

  3. Go to an actual currency exchanger before you go on your holiday they usually give the best rates.

  4. We usually get ours from the Post Office - they make no charge.

  5. It's easier to do it before you leave home. Many will tell you it's better to do it when you arrive on holiday, but there is guarantee of that. You may spend half a day looking for the best rate. The Post Office or Marks & Spencers are worth looking at in the UK.

Out of all of them, I doubt you will be much better off. If you changed £500 into euros you might be lucky and gain €5 - €8. It's hardly worth worrying about. It's not worth the energy looking.

    I live in Spain.

  6. I have just got back from Spain. I changed up £700 into Euros. When i got to Ibiza every money exchange was offering no-commission.The rate was i tiny bit higher but if you are not paying the commission you will be a bit better off. In the end it is safer just to put your card in the hole in the wall m/c.

  7. The Post Office exchange at no charge.  I would suggest that you only take enough cash to last you for a day or so.  Get the rest in Travellers Cheques, these can be cashed just about anywhere anytime you need them & no one else can cash them if they are stolen.  Its a much safer option than carrying a lot of cash.

    Have a great holiday !!

  8. Just take money out of the ATM they always give the best rate for that day, and there is no reason to have to exchange large amounts of money.

  9. the UK has horrible commission, research it first.  If you go to an Eurasian

    place  do it there

  10. Don't exchange money before you go.

Open a Nationwide account, and withdraw the currency from an ATM in the country you are visiting.  Nationwide do not as of last year charge you for taking out cash in a local currency from an ATM.  It safer than carrying cash T/C or exchanging money when you are at your destination.
