Is it better to get 1 or 2 chinchillas? Or does it not matter?

i am thinking about getting a chinchilla, but i dunno if i should get 1 or 2. cause i dunno if i get one chinchilla will it get lonley?

my cousins have one and usally if you get two and have them in the same cage thay will fight get two and start them off in sperate cages nexts to each other so they can get used to each other then one day try putting them in the same cage. but two of the sam egender usally is not good togther

Get two. Chinchillas are extremely social animals and in the wild they will live in groups of up to 50 members. Chinchillas are very likely to get lonely when left alone. I'd suggest getting a same s*x pair, so you don't end up with any babies. Males can be neutered, though this can be expensive. Same s*x pairs may fight for dominance, but once it's established, they should be fine.
