  1. Females would probably fight less in the beginning, with males they will usually fight until dominance is decided, and after that they're fine. I've never had any problems with my two boys spraying or seriously injuring themselves during their fights, which was usually just humping followed by fighting. But either s*x will do just fine. If you get two that are already bonded to each other, such as from an animal shelter, you shouldn't have any problems at all.

  2. I think that two females would be less likely to fight but they still can fight and in that case you would need to get a second cage.  I have one chinchilla and he is awesome.

  3. Chinchillas are one of the few rodents where males can happily live together.  It really doesn't matter as long as you have an extra large cage (none in petco will do).  Otherwise either gender will fight.

this place has GREAT cages.  I love them.

Remember plastic will not do...unless you want to constantly replace it.

  4. Yes, two female chinchilas are much less likely to fight sense males  are more territorial, other problems that often occur with male chinchalllas are spraying and male chinchillas are known to have a musky odor.

  5. Males will fight more...females with play and it looks like fighting but its not, males can actually kill eachother fighting

  6. 2 females.

They are less likely to fight. Hope this helps you!
