  1. I would recommend a hybrid. They're easier to hit, especially out of the rough, but it does take a bit of getting used to.

Edit: I would disagree with ixnay that hybrids are built for the rough. They have features that make them easier to use from the rough but they play very well from the fairway a well.

  2. If you can't hit irons but need some clubs with more height than woods you should definitetly get hybrids. hybrids also go higher than the equivalent irons. When a golfer gets good at ball contact they should hit irons though because they are easier to shape and control. It also depends on if you hit it into the rough a lot. I think irons are easier from the rough than hybrids, but hybrids are easier than woods. Always carry atleast one fairway wood unless you absolutely cannot hit it.

  3. Deffinately go hybrid. They are alot easier to hit, and you can use them out of any lie. I would reccomend a 19* hybrid, you will get good distance, better accuracy and you can hit hybrids out of spots that u cannot hit a wood out of. I dont know your budget but i would try the following brands: Adams, Nickent, Taylormade, or Ping.

  4. I really like 3 woods because i get the best distance off the tee with them, (i have a hard time with large drivers). But hybrids are a whole lot easier to hit. esp when it comes to using one like an iron. Off the ground they are much smoother, and easier to strike. Go to a specialty store like Hot Sticks or Golf Galaxy to fitted perfectly.

  5. I like my hybrids better than my woods.

  6. Find a version of each that you hit well in a golf store, then find which you hit more consistently. There are many things to consider though. Woods are for the fairway, hybrids are built for the rough. If you are in the rough alot, go with the hybrid. If you are in the fairway alot, go with the wood you hit more consistently. Remember. More important to know how far the ball will go, rather than guess how far this one will go.

  7. hybrid

  8. it depends on what your skill level is, how your swing and what kind of shots you are looking for...a 3 wood is good off the tee for beginners and some intermediate players too...a 5 wood is good club for anyone to have it has a good amount of loft and can be fairly easy to hit with some practice.  hybrids are great for any player, they are far easier to hit than reg long irons, and can be more forgiving too.  I would suggest getting all three, a 3, 5 wood, and hybrids up to your 5 iron if you are a decent player.

  9. Hybrid all the way!

Personally I have 3,5 woods and  3,4,5 hybrids. Once you get used to using hybrid.. you will never touch a single fairway wood again. There is just no need for it.. you can still reach par 5's in 3 and par 4's in 2. I just cannot justify risking a couple of extra distance for a big decrease in accuracy.

Say no to fariway woods fellas!

  10. i prefer hybrid since i cant hit woods

  11. I have all 3 or an equivalent.  I have a 3 wood and 2 hybrids.  The loft would be similar to that of a 5 wood and a 7 wood.  You want to make the game as easy as possible.  You need a combination of the 3 in one form or another.

  12. it all depends on how good u are at golf

3 woods are harder to use than 5 woods and 5 woods are harder than hybrids

i find that i hit my hybrid as far as the others anway

i find it easier because i just use my hybrid like an iron not a driver

it all depends on personal choice tbh

    happy golfing

the guy thats 3rd down has probs never played golf and plays a sport like tiddlywinks (not sayin its bad) and why is he answering questions on golf if he thinks its a p***y sport

  13. It depends instead of using my three wood Im more comfortable with my 3 iron

  14. 5 wood is the best
