If you had to get a snowboard one size bigger or one size smaller than your actual size, which would be better?

For example i am 158cm snowboard size. Would it be better to go for 157cm or 159cm if i couldn't get 158cm. Also i am a beginner.

Thanks

  1. you will grow out of a 157 faster than a 159...lol and longer is better...plus you will find out 1 cm doesnt make a difference much

  2. Firstly make sure you know what is your optimum size, http://www.snowandrock.com/buying_guide_... is a fantastic, quick guide. Secondly, how good are you. If you are pretty advanced, you may be surprised how much better you perform on a longer board. Beginners should stick to shorter boards because they are more forgiving and easier to turn.

  3. i dont know how old you are but its generally better for beginners to get a longer board and this way you can grow a a bit too while being able to keep your original board. Shorter boards are better for tricks but you shouldn't have much problems with that at first

  4. Get a board that goes up to your chin. stand it on end and see. Since your a begginer try going maybe a little shorter
