Is it better to get a car service through the hotel or a cab at the airport in Florence?

The hotel we are staying in does not offer a shuttle service.

Also, we will be very tired after a long flight, so we would want to get out of the airport pretty quickly.

definitely take a cab - they're always lined up waiting for arriving flights.

First, it depends which airport you are flying into. There are two which are refered to as Florence airports, however, one is actually closer to Pisa and the other is just outside of Florence. If it is the one outside Florence, then rest assured, it is a small airport-it actually feels more like a bus station then an airport. You can even take a quick bus into Florence from there. It will drop you off at the Florence train station. And depending on where your accomodations are it would be an easy walk or cab ride there. If, however, you prefer spending more money and making it easier then just grab a cab from the airport. Bon Viaggio

Alot of hotels offer shuttles to and from the airport so I would check with the hotel you are staying at first
