Question:

Is it better to go to a chain sporting goods store or an actual tennis store to buy tennis equipment?

I usually go to ***** Sporting goods store for sports stuff. All of the girls on the tennis team said thats where they went to get their racquets. Is it cheaper to buy tennis racquets at an actual tennis store or chain sporting goods store? Where should I go? I'm joining the tennis team and practice starts in a week and a half. BTW, I have absolutely no tennis equipment at all! No racquet, bag, shoes, or even a tennis ball.

And if I do go to a tennis store, will they help me find the right pair of tennis shoes for my feet (I overpronate and have extremely flat feet)? Like, do they have experts for that? Thanks in advance for any advice!

  1. Some chain sporting goods stores give discounts to high school players.  Make sure you mention that.  Hopefully they will help you find the right shoes and racquet.  If you know what you want, I would look online at some of the internet tennis stores (look in the back of a tennis magazine or serach for them) to find the best deal.  They should be able to ship in time for your season.
