Is it better to go to an all-inclusive resort when going to Playa Del Carmen?

My future wife and I are going to Playa Del Carmen in early May for our honeymoon and I'm trying to gauge whether or not an all-inclusive resort will be a good fit for us. We'll be there for a week and one day we want to go deep sea fishing and another day we want to visit Mayan Ruins. Is the resort better? Or should we just find a hotel and plan our days and meals ourselves?

  1. I have done this. Going all inclusive is the way to go. I did it and it was great did the deep sea fishing went to x-caret(good place to go by the way) and even did a little skydiving while I was there. The snorkeling trip was a hoot also. Having food there at the hotel was nice and if you get tired of that there are a few fast food places in walking distances from the hotels. They switch up the menu everyday so your not eating the same thing the whole time. You also get the wristband that lets you drink all the time which is good...your drink get a little warm...you just get a new one. My last vacation was in Puerto Rico and I didn't get the all inclusive deal. Made a mistake not doing it that way wish I would have it was a good learning lesson from now on that is the only way i will go. Your going to love it there
