no offense but theyre both really dirty and one is a communist counrty you'll never come back from...

if you want the carribean i say go to st.thomas or cabo st. lucas...most amazing places ever...or even jamaica the people there are great and you wont regret it

No offense?? Wow, that is one huge ignorant and prejudiced answer calling both cultures dirty.

No offense to you Stephen M, but this answer is obviously coming from someone who has actually never been to Cuba or Puerto Rico and is speaking rather ignorantly AND disrespectfully of others.

IMike 78, Cuba and Puerto Rico are beautiful places and the cultures are warm and hospitable.

Personally, I would say Cuba for a vacation because there is just something about Cuba that is different from everywhere else. Even though Cuba has one of the highest tourism rate there, it's not 'commericialized or americanized'. It's sheer beauty in more ways than one. The water in Cuba is a gorgeous clear turquoise with white sand and clean.

On top of that, the Cubans will welcome you open-heartedly and are genuinely happy to help you have an amazing vacation.

They are warm and down-to-earth. Even though it's a socialist country, it does not make them 'backwards' or ignorant, like some would like to say.

They will always be singing and smiling no matter what difficulties they face...and we all have difficulties no matter where we live in the world.

Cuba is also known to be extremely safe for both men, women, and children. They are on the lookout for you and will help you in an instant...and this I also know firsthand.

You will find a beautiful variety of people in Cuba from all walks ot life...and they are all highly educated, talented and educated people...and they are hard-working people. They are not lazy at all and their conscientious work habits can put a lot of North Americans to shame.

Their zest for life and warmth is highly infectious and they are dignified people and like it when their visitors also are dignified and respectful. You will be treated well.

All of this and more is what will really make your vacation truly enjoyable and memorable.....and that my friends is the only reason why you may never come back lol............

Guaranteed you will go back to Cuba in a heartbeat.
