I applied to a University right after high school and got accepted but because of tuition I ended up applying to a community collegea week before classes started. So I started at this community college not knowing anything about their programs or anything and I ended s******g up my grades badly..So now I have a 3.4 (I was a 3.9 student in highschool) and I am transferring back to the University I had intended on going from the beginning. The problem is that I never took any of my science classes except 2 at the community college and now I don't know if I should just take the rest get good grades and apply for pharmacy school or wait and finish a biology degree first than apply later? I reallly need some insight on this from those who have been throught something similar...It's driving me crazy! What do you think will the pharm. school prefer?

  1. It's always a good idea to have the degree, just in case you don't get into pharmacy, and you have to figure out what to do with your life.  Putting all your "eggs in one basket" academically is a bit risky.

  2. Even if you do get into pharmacy  at the end , It's still  a good idea to have the degree first.

  3. I think the best option for you would be to get a bachlor's degree, due to just in case you change your mind about pharmacy school, or some other situation comes up. I think your best bet if you are wanting to get a bachelors degree, get it in chemistry, it would be more revelant to your major and most of the classes you would need to take in pharmacy school you would have already taken.

I would think the pharamacy school would rather have you get your bachelors instead of just taking classes and not getting anything in the end. Plus you would look more credible for admissions.
