Is it better to have sperm waiting for the egg when ttc?

The day i suppossedly ovulated, i had s*x like 20 hours afer ovulation and im thinking the egg was already on its way down when we did it. Also, what are the best times to catch the egg so fertilization is possible

you did it right as it can take up to 36 hours for the egg to drop...so it's ok to do it this way instead of intercouse before...good luck! you can also ask a fertility specialist online for free for an opinion, try www.fertilityties.com

Really good question! The sperm doesn't wait it swims until it either finds the egg or dies. Sperm can live for about 48 hours in that environment so it does help to have s*x before ovulation but it also helps to have s*x every night around that time so more sperm is deposited and ready to swim.
