When i first started running i couldnt even do 1/2 mile, but i found that if I do a slow jog I can go alot longer. Im defintely not walking, but i dont go fast at all.

I timed it yesterday and i do a mile in just over 10 mins.

But if I try to go fast, I have to quit after like 1/2 mile. What do you think?

  1. jeez i can walk a 10 minute mile. try alternating. like run for  a minute then walk for 2. the fluctuating in your heart rate burns more calories

  2. Work on distance first, then increase your speed.

  3. well, depends. I would do sped first same distance, then when you get fast go further

  4. Unless you want to do very intense sprinting bursts, I'd say it'd be better to increase the distance of your run because your heart gets stronger by endurance, (sprinting can cause muscle damage and clogging by the way) but sprinting wins for muscles and weight loss. So, it really depends on how you like to train and how much extra time you have in your day.

  5. i think, longer is better, with peaks where you increase and decrease speed,

you burn fat calories while exercising, not specifically for exercising at a certain degree, but just moving, so the longer the better, but cardio is also important so maybe rotate,

go fast one day and take it slower the next day.

  6. im gonna have to say distance.....but dont slow because of it.

  7. Distance girl!!!!
