  1. if it is very hot in the evening if it was an normal temperature you can do that in the morning

  2. the morning is a good time to water the lawn because the water dries slowly so the grass has time to soak in water

  3. We irrigate at night, more time to do it now and does the plants more good.

  4. During mornings when U irrigate and water there are chances of water evaporation due to sun , hence irrigation during EVENINGS is best as water doesnot evaporate quickly.

  5. Mid day if possible.  This way if it is hot out you are cooling the plant down which reduces stress on it.

  6. During our field practice course we were told to water plants in the nursery both in the morning & in the evening. However later we just watered in the morning. I think morning is the most essential time to water cos plants can withstand the heat with the help of moisture and the harm due to low temperatures of the night  can be reduced by watering in the morning.

  7. In the evening as the moisture will get a chance to sink down to root level  easier than it will during the day, daytime the sunlight causes a high percentage of it to evaporate away.

  8. It is always better to irrigate in evening, because if iriigated in summer morning the loss due to evaporation is too high and if you get late in morning irrigation the roots of the crop may get damaged [ as you know that hot water vapour burns more than hot water at same temperature ]. If irrigation is done in evening in winters when temperatures are very low the irrigated water maintains the soil temperature [ as you know that in case of frozen lake the under water is hotter than the surface water ] and protects the plant roots to be damaged. THUS TO CONCLUDE IRRIGATE ALWAYS IN EVENING................

  9. I've heard that evening is better, because the plants need moist soil at night; they shut the pores on their leaves and 'suck up' whatever nutrients the root has available at night-if the soil is dry at night, the plant won't really be able to draw the nutrients up from the roots.

Also, during the day, especially if it's sunny, the water on the plants can burn them.  Due to transpiration and the heat of the sun, daytime water does tend  to evaporate.

          i usually water around 5-7pm.

  10. early morning at night the bad bugs are about and they like it damp---ugru

  11. in the morning, early.

if you do it in the evening the water will soak down, often too low for the roots to reach.

plants dont need water overnight, but they need it in the heat of the day.

  12. In the morning. There is an old saying that ' You never send you plants to bed with wet feet.' Plants sleep at night, same as you, have you seen flowers closing for the night. Plants feed during the day so require water to carry the nutrients from the soil.

  13. Evening, you lose less moisture from the suns radiation

  14. plants use the solar energy to prepare the food - starch - by breaking down the water particles and the carbondioxide in air.. so logically presence of water during the active photosynthesis period (day time) appears best.. also in tropical situation like India, the excess water is transpired to keep the plant cool.. this way also the wetting in the morning is best..

usually fields are watered in morning and night under garden land condition (lift irrigation) since it is not possible to cover the whole cropped area in one session.. further the power supply may be restricted from night to early morning hours.. In canal irrigation from rivers etc, the flow is continuous for wet crops like paddy where we keep standing water..

you can guide water properly and prevent wastes during day. But irrigation by night can not be avoided due to restricted power supply by day. If fertilizers are to be applied by day and it is not possible to irrigate immediately by day, the application is done in the evening and irrigated on receipt of power supply.

  15. evening....water doesn't evaporate as fast at night.

  16. I say morning because that way the crops have something to grow on throughout the day.
