Is it better to join SIU(Union) or Straight up work for MSC?

I have 8yrs sea time i was stationed on a AOE,FFG,DDG

I am a boatswains mate(E5) and have my MMD AB unlimited

with my family which one is better as far as health benefits etc.

i know all the sea time they do that doesnt bother us thank you for any answers you can provide.

  1. SIU's healthcare really isn't anything to talk about positively.   If MSC has any health plan it is probably better than SIU.   Why bother paying dues for nothing?
