Is it better to leave the TV on for hours straight, or give it a 1 - 2 hour rest in between?

For example if I'm going to leave the house for 1 - 2 hours, and I know I would watch TV when I come back, should I turn it off and leave it on? What would be best for the TV?

I've left my on when I fell asleep during the night but its saves energy to turn it off.

well your tv will have a longer life if you use it less so turning it off is the way to go, not to mention you will be saving on ur power bill.

I've left mine on all night. It was fine.
