  1. You can lose a lot by cycling but you have to do it correctly.  You want to have a high cadence so your legs wont give out.  See the link.

  2. If you enjoy cycling more, you should do that, as you'll be more likely to stick with it. If you hate running, you're more likely to give up on it. Both burn a good amount of calories, so it's really best to stick with the one you like better.

  3. Try doing both. Alternate every other day cycling and running. Build up distances, speed and throw in a rest day once a week. One sport need not be the ultimate solution. Follow a meal plan that you can live with. Enjoy your exercise and have fun. Good luck!

  4. yeah cycling is a cardio activity so you will lose weight, people will say running will make you lose weight better but if you don't like running you will stop and have no motivation, but if you like cycling you will keep it up and lose weight but only if you eat right as well =) good luck!

  5. To lose weight, you have to exercise AND diet at the same time. Eat the proper food, though.

Running and biking to lose weight are a deadly combo. It is great to be strong in both. Just make sure you train more than you eat. Even Tour De France athletes are conscious about what and the quantity of what they eat.

Cycling alone is still possible. Do the long & (relatively) slow rides so that you can get energy from fat. Same goes for running.

    Good luck!
