Is it better to stay up late to revise a paper, while your focus is slipping and it grows increasingly harder to concentrate?

Or, is it better to wake up early to revise the paper?

  1. Stay up, but manage to give yourself several good minutes in the morning to check it over again.

If you wait until morning to revise it, it's too close to losing your chance. You could be unable to think clearly enough at all.

I prefer to push myself at night.

  2. You will be more alert in the morning, but if you go get a soda or a coffee that will add some caffiene to your system, you might be able to concentrate enough to stay up and get the darn thing done, printed and ready to turn in.  Then you will sleep better.

  3. Wake up early. Most definetly! You will get some new ideas as you sleep and have a fresh look at it in the A.M.

  4. Sleep first and wake up refreshed.

Sleep is much more important than revision when it comes to performance on the day of an exam. Tired minds make bad choices and work too slowly and not necessarily accurately. Tired minds also forget too much, too easily.
