Change some of your money at the airport into  Ja $ you will get a receipt. That way you can change back your Jamaican money to US dollars on your return home when you present  your receipt at the airport in Jamaica.  

I think its always safe to keep some 50 and 20 dollar travellers checks with you and the receipt for them somewhere else....so if you lose the traveller checks they can be replaced...and have some US dollars.

Do not keep all your money in the same place AND do not flash lots of money around for people to see.

Most of the above tips are usefull no matter where you travel.

Depends on what you are buying. Food and small gift items are usually overpriced when you buy them in US$.

On the other hand, jewellry or pricier items in the tourist areas usually give US$ the advantage.
