  1. Oh, if you can stay three days - there is a lot to see and do in the Niagara Area, not just the Falls.

If you only have one day it will be difficult to decide what to see and it also depends on what you like.

Riding the shuttle bus is a good idea especially if it is your first time in Niagara Falls - we don't usually do that because we know exactly where we want to go, but it sure does save lots of time finding somewhere to park each time you stop somewhere.

I too would say that you should go on the Maid of the Mist - I go to Niagara every year and never miss it.

The Behind the Falls in okay, but not as exciting as the Maid of the Mist boat ridet.

If you have young people with you, then go to Clifton Hill tourist area, there are Museums and Waxworks, the House of Horrors and the Rain-forest Cafe.

If you like Nature and Wildlife check out the Botanical Gardens, the Winery Route to Niagara on the Lake, the Floral Clock, and in early summer the acres and acres of Lilac trees. The Butterfly Conservatory is lovely too if you like that.

The historic town of Niagara on the Lake is a lovely place to spend a day.

We also like (now and again) to have dinner at the top of the revolving tower near the Falls (I can't remember if it is the Minolta Tower or the Skylon Tower), the food is good and the views are spectacular. On Fridays, Sundays and holidays there is a fireworks display over the falls between mid-May and the end of August.

I hope you enjoy your trip to the Falls and come back often!

  2. Niagara Falls could be an afternoon excursion, or an all day, there are shops and other tourist like attractions to visit while there.  I would see no need to make it a three night thing unless you just want to, again there are many other attractions near the Falls. I stayed two nights, but I visited other places other than the Falls.

  3. One or two days is plenty. There's some neat things to look at while your there. But the lodging is high priced, the closer to the falls you get, food also. If I were you, I would plan on at least one day, maybe two. Who knows, you may want to stick around, and check out some of the other sights in the area. There is more there than just the falls.

  4. 1-2 days should  be fine

  5. If you are just doing the falls area, one day is fine.  If you want to tour the wine region and Niagara-on-the-Lake,  take three days.  I really like the winery tours, so I would do three days!
