  1. Do you want to find out what it feels like to have a broken wrist?

  2. It is really good to go with them because wrists seem to break really easily

you don't need them all the time though i used them all the time when i was first learning, but now only during races or when learning a trick

  3. If you're a beginner you'll be falling quite a bit and instinct is to use your hands to protect yourself so wrist guards are a pretty good idea.  If you're riding in the park you might want them because you'll be doing things that will put you in a position to fall a lot too.

Wrist guards are never a bad idea.

  4. ok. so ive been snowboarding for 10 years. (Im 16 now) im the guy in the park that does the rodeos and goes pretty big. i do wear wrist guards and heres why. not because i am afraid of breaking a wrist, but because im sick of landing and then placing my hand down to gain stability. when i do this i tend to sprain my wrist EVERY DAY and its very annoying. it just plain hurts. the wrist guards really stop thoes sprains. i can still ride with them. but the guard prevents them all together. now, when your learning a new trick, and i mean a BIG trick, wrist guards are a no. studies show, and ive learned first hand (trust me) wearing a wrist guard and landing from 30 feet onto your wrist is a badddddd idea. the guard actually makes the break worse than if you didnt have it on at all. so i wear wrist guards all the time when im riding and know i can land a trick no problem. when im learning something new. wrist guards are a no.

  5. depends on your ability.  if you not to good. maybe its a good idea. but if your really good and you don't fall that much, then i don't think you need them. your choice.

  6. if you don't have a helmet yet, forget about wrist guards

  7. Nah, no need for wrist guards. The great thing about snowboardinf if your starting out, is that you dont have to go fast to get used to is, and if u start going a little faster than you want and cant slow down, you simply sit down.

  8. I would definitely recommend wrist guards. I never wore them and now one of my wrists is totally trashed. Your natural reaction  is to catch yourself with your wrists and that's just going to blow them out. It seems like you get one or two free light sprains and then after that your wrists will just stop healing completely.

It's all about protection and prevention, though. They're not necessary, of course, there's just a fair chance that you'll wish you'd had them later on.

  9. If you are a beginner you would probably find a butt pad more beneficial.
