Is it cheaper to buy a built santa cruz chameleon or to build one up myself?

i want a chameleon with a fox vanilla fork and basically everything on the Santa Cruz R AM build kit.

Unless you are planning on using parts from another bike or buying used parts (not always a good idea), building a bike from scratch will almost always be more expensive.  However, people who want to pick and choose each part on their bike might argue that the extra cost is worth it.  If you like the looks of the R AM kit you would probably be best off getting that and replacing any components that you don't want/like (or wait till stuff wares out).  Hope this helps.
