From the midwestern US. Also, does it take longer to get over the border back into the US by bus or by plane (for an american citizen).

  1. It is def. cheaper to go by bus to Mexico. I heading to mexico this weekend via greyhound. If I was to travel by plane my ticket would have cost me $560. My bus ticket only cost me $161. Here are a few hints, Sign up for roadrewards from greyhound, that way you get 10% off your first ticket. Make sure that you buy your ticket two weeks in advance where you will get a major discount. If you can not get your tickets two weeks in advance there is only a $10 difference in a 7 day advance purchase. But if you do not get your ticket at least 7 days in advance then your ticket will be twice as much money. It does take longer to get to the border, but it is well worth the money. Good luck and hope you have a great trip.

  2. Well I live in So Cal so it is cheaper for us to drive. But if you want its faster to fly and cheaper to take a bus. It takes a long time to get across any border taking a plane period! I am not to sure about the bus. But any way you need to have a passport now so make sure you ahve one. And good luck. Mexico is the funnest place. Well, Rosarito is so I hope you visit soon! Good luck and don't get hussled..

  3. the best way to check out which is cheaper is to  take your average gas milage. either by the tank or actual mpg. let's take you tank size.  say that you get 300 miles to the gallon. then mapquest the drive from your house to mexico.  say for ie. from st louis to brownsille Tx. (next to mexico) is close to 1200 miles.  so that's a total of 8 tanks 4 there and 4 back  add 2 more tanks for sight seeing.  so take the 300 mpg adn divied it by $4 dollars for gas.  300/4= $75 per tank. times 8 tanks 75x8 so that's $600 in gas.  figure that you can go70 mph on the highway 1200/70 is a 17 hour trip. you might wantot stay the night somewhere. another what 50 there and back 50 so your looking at what $700 round trip?  if you flew you whould have to rent a car.  so it might be cheaper to drive.

  4. its cheaper to go by bus but you save more time going by plane..

  5. Takes longer for a bus, but shorter for a plane.

Also, if you were to fly, you would have to have a passport, which costs MONEY.

  8. It's about the same pricce if you look for cheaper airlines tickets and plus it saves up time. Keep looking for airlines tickets, theres a lot that is cheap.

  9. ck usa 3000

  10. it's more expensive in the plane and the bus is cheaper but the bus does take 3 days.

  11. bus is cheaper...but good luck on the longggggggggggg ride

just fly....It takes like 4 hours from LA to Mexico

  12. Combine them both.

Go by bus to Atlanta. In Atlanta take the Vivaaerobus.com cheap flight to Monterrey..... and you're in mexico in a hour!

  13. You could fly to San Antonio or Mc Allen, then take the bus if you like.  There are also some very cheap airlines...have to check different dates and watch for one of their fabulous specials.  Vivoaerobus flies from Austin Tx.  Where in Mexico are you going?  They often have special faresof10.00 from Austin to Monterrey or $40.00 to Cancun.  Bus service to anywhere in Mexico is great from San Antonio or McAllen...and a few other cities too.

  14. Fly.  Once you get into Mexico, the bus system there is much better.  They have luxury buses that take you from city to city, 1000 times better than Greyhound.  But I would fly to Mexico.

  15. definetly by bus

    because plan is wayy faster!

But if you want to sit on a bus

    for about 3 days!

    GOOD LUCK!
