  1. Freezers are notoriously inefficient, even when used properly;use the air conditioner. If you really need to save money, open a window.

  2. the electric company says to "set and forget it" but generally your ac will only cool the house 15 degrees lower than what it is outside,so definately get some fans going and leave the ac at 72. June,July and August are the worst electric wise.Good luck!

  3. Leaving the freezer door open would only thaw out the food that's in it.  That will cost you more money.  If you have ceiling fans or box fans, use them to help circulate the air.

  4. The freezer is not going to accomplish anything for cooling your house. With the door open cold air will come out its front but hot air always comes out its back. So they cancel each other and your electric bill goes up for nothing.

If the nights are cool you should get window fans and open the windows at night to bring in that cooler air. Your should also look at getting an attic fan to take the heat out of your attic or a whole house fan that pulls in cooler night air and pushes it out through the attic. Even if the nights are not very cool the air movement from fans will be some relief.

  5. Son , you need help real bad. Leave the freezer door closed . Turn off the a/c and use a fan. You will save 100's of dollars over the summer.Just think about what you said "Leave the freezer door open" Is their a doctor in the house. If you could get air into the freezer maybe you could sleep inside of it.  Just teasing . Good luck

  6. Ummm.... well leaving the freezer open is the dumbest thing i have ever heard! No offence! I'd open the windows, that will save you more money then the both of those things put together. Just geta fan to use at night while your sleeping.

  7. Your fridge would run non-stop and probably burn out.
