  1. It also depends which part of Queensland you are going to is it Brisbane?

It also depends on how much of a cold frog you are.... I can't stand the cold much...

I live in Newcastle 11years now but all my life in QLD various....

Brisbane is usually just a few degrees warmer from our weather... Cairns - a light cardigan and long pants is the most you will need in the evening...

I once was visiting relatives in June/July on the Gold Coast and there was a heat wave, I had to race out and buy myself some shorts etc and the kids borrowed from their cousins (same ages and sizes thank god)...

  2. it all depends on where you are i grew up about 100 ks west of Bundaberg it has been known to get down to zero degrees Celsius or less in June- July and warm up to about 15  c  and about fifty or more years ago people have seen sleet on the Mountain that is known to the locals as the Biggenden Bluff or Mount Walsh

  3. well it could be hot it could be cold. depends. i live in brisbane, i have my whole life. sometimes it gets really cold, down to like 2 degrees minimum, but thats only sometimes. theres really no way to tell. so bring warm winter clothes but also bring some more summery clothes.

but it depends where you're from too, because if you're from a place like england, you will think that brisbane is always hot, and you wont find it cold at all.

    hope this helps :)

  4. Yes it gets freezing here, especially when heading west of the coast, this year its been quite a cool summer so expecting a very cold winter, and last winter i recorded a minus 1 in rockhampton area! at night, days are usually not to bad but still need jumpers, long pants etc

  5. Wow! The five minutes that I'm browsing unanswered questions and I find this...

I live in Brisbane, Queensland, and it does get cold in June/July. Not very cold, 10 degrees Celsius is the absolute minimum. You'd probably get nothing lower than 15. It can, however, get up to about 26 on hot days in winter. It will definitely be cold, but there will be hot days.

  6. If your idea of cold has anything to do with say snow, not even close. It gets cool, most days are still warm. There would be days when it requires dressing as if it was cool, and maybe some nights remotely considered almost 'cold'. But there will still be some warm t-shirt weather days even in June-July.

  7. Yeah it's cold in June / July, but not as cold a the rest of the country.

  8. You will wear your nice winter clothes if it has anything to do with how the summer has been this year, well below average temps. We do get cold winter mornings and nights contrary to belief.(4-10deg.)The days do warm up to around 20c when the sun is out but when it isn't and that is what they are predicting this winter  it does keep it down to 12-16c.

You will wear them just not as many times as other places less fortunate I suppose;)

  9. 20-25% daytime

    10-15% nights

  10. You mentioned the central coast of Queensland which could mean around half-way between Brisbane and Cairns. If that's the case, winter clothes would probably only be comfortable to wear early in the morning or after dusk.

You're looking at highest and lowest temperatures of 23 degrees C (75F) and 10 degrees C (50F). Those months have the least rainfall averages as well.

Usually a jumper and jeans is enough to keep you warm.

  11. June and July are winter months here in Australia. In Central Qld and South East Qld the daytime temps arte around 20-25 degrees C (68-77 F). It gets a little warmer the farther north you go. In the tropics, the water temperature only changes a couple of degrees between winter & summer so even though it might be coolish at the beach, the temperature's still lively for swimming in places like the Whitsundays. The same can't be said for the Gold & Sunshine Coasts in winter. Just a bit cold unless you're into water sport.

Last July i had a friend over from Texas. It was a particularly cool July, got down to 8C-ish in Brisbane at night and days around 19-21C. All in all, it's a very lovely place to spend winter, and there will be windy days so winter clothes come in handy. It's dry and clear and sunny.

  12. Look when it's cold in Qld it's not really COLD cold, its just cold for here cos its usually so warm. You'll probably wear some of your nice winter clothes but not like big heavy jackets or 3 layers or anything. I bought one of those awesome bomber jackets with the fur and everything and i can never manage to wear it without looking like a sweaty freak.

  13. It is always hot in QLD. they don't have summer and autumn up there. At around June/July it would be the wet season so raining and windy quite a bit. But still humid weather =D

  14. In can be cold in south eastern Qld but if you are up towards Mackay, Townsville and Cairns, it is warm up there.

In Brisbane, where I live, you would only need jeans, a jumper and a t-shirt.

In Mackay, etc, you might need a cardie for early mornings or late nights but that would be it.

I don't think you'll have an opportunity to wear your nice winter clothes if you're say from the UK or Melbourne!

    Enjoy your stay.
