Is it common for Hemorrhoids to clear up within 48 hrs?

I had a litte bit of pain over the past 48 hrs. Actually its still a little faint, but not as bad as it was. maybe my body hasnt waken up enough to feel it; but at the moment it feels better then before. so how often do these things clear up this quickly? Or was it not a hemroid at all? I do think there was some growth. I'm only 21 for christ sakes! God has a sick sence of humor :)
