Is it common for a British family to have a clothes dryer?

I have heard that many families in Britain usually hang dry their clothes... is that true?

  1. yes it it true this is good for the enviroment


  2. All my cousins had both. But what interested me was that their washer and dryers were in the kitchen whereas we seem to have them in separate rooms. I only use my dryer when it is really cold in the winter. The rest of the time I either hang in on the line outside or put it on racks in the dining room. Saves me TONS of money on electricity and also adds needed moisture in air in  the house when it is dry and crackly from static electricity.

  3. Some still hand dry, its cheaper. Many families now have a dryer and most commonly it is installed in the kitchen along with the washing machine.

  4. Yes a lot of us have dryers as sadly we don't get the good weather all year round to hang our washing out.
