Like the above question, since I just handed my visa application in today with my passport and they gave me no receipt. They just said to show identification next time I come in and they'll give me my passport and that usually they don't give out receipts. And asked if it would make me feel better she can give me a receipt for the payment I made. I was just wondering if it's common for an embassy to lose your passport and what do you do in that case.

  1. I have read one letter on here from a person whose passport was lost by an embassy.  I think it would be rare. individuals seem to lose their own passports at a phenomenal rate.

  2. Its uncommon but it can happen especially when its one of the larger embassies but if they provided no receipt its usually because they dont have many applicants and are sure they wont lose it.Dont worry and hope you get your visa aproved

    Good luck!
