Is it common for brand new DVD RW's to be shipped without a audio cable?

My Sony 20X had none.....just wondering.

I assume it needs one......how will I get sound from a CD or DVD without it?

Most PCs these days get sound through the main digital connector, so the old analog cable isn't required any more.

You can use your old one. nowadays most people rip their CDs into mp3s.
