Is it common for financial aids to take longer than usual to get verified?

I've had taken out financial aids for college last year and the year before but this time, it's taking longer than usual for my 2008-09 application to get verified, even though I submit it almost three months ago. College already started for me and I'm still waiting for the loans to come in. Just curious if anyone else have this kind of problem as well.

Yes. Same problem.

No it is not especially common. Rather, it is uncommon for financial aid (assistance) to take longer than usual to get verified. All for good reasons. Genuine reasons. However, the government  might well, now and then, throw a spanner in the works. That is when it might well take longer than usual. Although, the term 'usual' is common these days. Red tape, I believe.
