I just started bartending about 4 months ago, and I myself have never been to a strip club. Never really wanted to, is it common for males to work as a bartender at a strip club? I am sure they would probably want a smoking hot babe, but is it weird for a male to work at one? I am looking for a new job, and I see there is a job posting for a local strip club, but I don't wanna embarrass myself for applying for a job that guys normally wouldn't work.

  1. dont sell your soul out for a few meesly pennies you'll make stripping. try and find a job that you can succed at, not just showing off your body

  2. No, it's not common.  But if bartending is your biz, then it isn't going to hurt your resume.  You probably won't get tipped quite as heavily as a female would, but you'll do pretty well, as long as being in that kind of environment isn't a problem for you.

The fact of the matter is that men go to clubs like this for female companionship (in whatever form it takes, depending on the club), and other dudes are summarily dismissed in the attention span of guys in these kinds of clubs.

However, depending on the "prestige" of the club, and the level of spending there, you could do VERY well for yourself.  As was noted in a previous answer, many of the guys there won't see you at all, only the waitress who brings them the drink, and you'll get tipped out off of what they get, regardless of your gender.  If the place you're at now is a little slower than you'd like, you might want to check it out, just to see what's available out there.

Go to the club at least once, see if it's something you're interested in doing or could handle doing, and go from there.

  3. Not many people actualy go up to the bar to buy drinks in a strip club.  They order them and the smoking hot waitress brings them right to the table.  I personnaly have no idea about the s*x of the bartender in any of the strip clubs I have been to.

  4. I don't it's much more prevalent for women to work at a strip club than it is for men. From what I gather, most women who work in a strip club would rather not, but the pay is incredible and hard for the IRS to tax. I would say that if you're not planning to run for public office someday and can get over the possible embarrassment, and that you don't think it would put your bartending job in jeopardy, go for it. If I still had my 6pk, I might think about it ;)
