Being a polygamist is not about orgies and s*x.

It is about loving more than one person. If the loving group do that, that's fine, but not usual. More often than not, you'll have a system of 1 man and 2 women, or 2 men and 1 woman, and they take turns with each other, at different times.

no. actually it depends. if it is in the islamic religion. the other wives never ask anything concerning the relationship between their husbands and the other wives, it is actually forbidden to even speak about what goes on between a married couple to others. each wife has her own house. they may speak and interact with eachother but as far as having s*x all together no. it wouldnt be respectful to the wives, it is bad enough they are sharing their husband with another woman why would she even think to let him be with the other woman  in front of her.

From what I have read and heard, many polygamous cultures and sub-cultures are, if anything, MORE sexually repressed than our own basically monogamous culture.

There are even some of these cultures where the man is ONLY allowed to have s*x with any of his wives when they want to produce a child, and common recreational s*x, purely for enjoyment, is strictly not allowed.

Elsewhere, within our own culture, if someone commits polygamy for purely personal rather than cultural reasons, they usually go to great lengths to hide each "family" from the other(s) - if for no reason but to avoid the trouble it would inevitably get them into.
