Is it common for those with anger managment issues to always want long periods of time to elapse before reconciling with the person whom they were angry with? I'm not talking about a week or two weeks, but more often that not 3 months or more? I find that this is the pattern with a few people I know. I'm wondering if this is common with those who need anger management or is this more common in people who have anger management issues in addition to another behavioral issue...like denial?

  1. I try to keep people like this out of  my life.  They require more work in a relationship than they themselves are willing to put forth.  And as if that isnt bad enough, they are always always jerks!

  2. I believe those are different issues because I also know people who don't have "short fuses" that take a long time to reconcile with another after falling out. Perhaps those with anger issues are also likely to have the other.

Self-centered people have difficulty looking at different points of view. Some of even have to be right at all costs. But I think this is probably a symptom of a larger issue.

  3. As a psychology student, and sufferer of Anger Management disorder, i cant tell you that all cases vary slightly. your time of separation is a social response to your anger, where many individuals with this problem react physically. I would say that the way to fix your problem is by having a mediator between you and the person you are at ends with. A good friend of you, who is also cool with the other person is a good option.
