  1. yes

  2. Not a skiier, so don't know for sure. Don't see why not, though, if you're good.

  3. I taught my friend how to ski this season.  We took him up the bunny hill his first time and he was falling all over the place, trying to turn.  We went down the bunny hill about 10 times trying to teach him how to turn, then on the 11th time something just clicked and he could turn and stop.  So then we moved him up onto a blue and he did fine, just had some control problems.  Then a week later we took him up and moved him to double blues, he did fine, had a bit of a control problem still with his speed, but was fine.  Then his 3rd time, for the last run of the day we took him down a black and he did fine on that one too.  Now, hes been with me about 19 times this season, he has been down all the hardest runs on the mountain a lot of times.  He keeps up pretty good, but he looks like a noob while he's going down because he has crappy form that he has to work on but hes getting better too.  So I think you can definitely advance that fast with skiing.

Lol sorry for the long story for the short explenation.  I do that sometimes.

  4. Depends on your definition of advanced.   Are you ripping down the moguls?   Are you doing 360 jumps?

  5. Well, maybe you should take more lessons.  You'll be better!

  6. It is not common at all. It took 6 years to get from beginner to advanced.  What you can ski doesnt determine your level, it is how you ski - your technique.  Advanced skiers are aggressive.  Anyone can go down an advanced trail, but advanced skiers do it with better technique.

This is me skiing last year

    my level was intermediate.

I am better now, and I now consider myself advanced, but on the lower end of advanced.

Ski levels can be explained here:

  7. Unlikely.

  8. Not only is it not common Its not possible. Skiing is a sport that not only requires technique but also experience. I'm sure you are making it down the hill but being confident in all conditions and all snow types is very unlikely. Not to bring you down but keep enjoying the sport for what it is. Don't put a label on how you think you are doing. There is always something you can learn.

  9. no offense or annything but unless you learn extreamly fast and your trainer is like a world class skiier but u might be able to qualify yourself as intermediate. -^^-

  10. I skiied for over 30 years and never got to advanced.

Be mindful that if you rent ski gear and put advanced on your form, they are going to give you much tighter bindings, which might be hazardous to your old leg bones.

  11. Yes. It is not unlikely.  People do it all the time.

  12. no. i mean skiing is a sport you pick up on fast but not that fast. whoever did that must have natural ability. it took me like 7 group lessons and skiing 15 times to get to advanced. GOOD JOB!!!! (to whoever did that)
