Question:

Is it common to start uni at 21?

I have wasted these last 3 years of my life, but now I'm determined to pursue a degree. Is it ''too late'' to start uni at 21 years of age? I mean, I know there are people in college of all ages, but is it really that common? Will I be too old to join the labor market when I graduate ( I want to do a 4-year degree)? Won't that be a drawback when I apply for a job later on?

I'm trying to decide between college and occupational training...

Thanks for your time

  1. hey it's never too late! it took my husband (this is his avatar) six years to get his degree, he worked off and on. Yes he was often older than the other students but there were/are plenty of other people in their 20's and even 30's in the classes. It's actually a huge advantage. The 18-year-olds are shivering in their boots with nervousness and the older people are so chill because they've had more life experience and aren't worried about how they look or partying--they're in school to learn, period. if you go to occupational training there will probably be a lot more older people but you should do what's best for you, not choosing based on where you fit in. Trust me, everyone will take you more seriously in your classes! Good luck!
