  1. Yes, unless something very serious has happened or there is evidence of a crime:

"The duty of confidentiality owed to a person under 16 is as great as that owed to any other person. Regardless of whether or not the requested treatment is given, the confidentiality of the consultation should still be respected, unless there are convincing reasons to the contrary."

    From http://www.bma.org.uk/ap.nsf/Content/Con...

  2. A child under the age of 16 years old is still a minor and therefore the Doctor has an obligation to notify the parent/guardian of the child to whatever problems the child has.  Under no circumstances can a doctor withhold this information when a person is under the age of 16

  3. only to have an abortion

  4. It's confidential at any age unless you are a danger to yourself or others.

  5. Doctors work under the 'Hypocratic Oath' & so keep information revealed to them by their patients 100% private & confidential !

  6. UK law may be different.  US law supports that parents of a minor child have the RIGHT to know medical records/ info of their children. I believe that there are exceptions, primarily in the case of an abortion.  That does not extend to everything.

As for "doctor/patient confidentiality" in moral terms, that does NOT  preclude parental rights to information.
